Golden Hour is my favorite. The light does things that you just don’t see any other time of day.
Sunset
Feb 21st Sunset
Bracketing the day. Sunrise and then Sunset. It wasn't a clear sky, but I preferred the trees in our local dog park to provide the framing anyway.
The whole thing felt cinematic, hence the 16x9 crop. Also, this is the first time I've given the RX1r the full f/22 Sunstar treatment. One of the things I love about this camera is the fixed lens. No dust spots at small apertures!
Also, if you look closely you'll see that I was using ISO 6400 and this file has a pretty heavy swing in dynamic range. Perhaps this image is right on the edge of useable, but what camera can pull off a useable file at f/22, and ISO 6400? Count me pleased!
Christmas Eve, Arizona
Such a Beautiful (and thorny) place to spend this Christmas.
Fire Before Dark
This is the crazy light from Saturday's sunset here in Portland. This truly is the best time of year to be a photographer.
Alpenglow
The kids and I went up to Larch Mountain Sunday evening hoping for a great view of the Blood Moon Eclipse, but the alpenglow on Mt Hood during sunset totally stole the show for me. The moon came up pretty small and pretty far to the North for the shot I was hoping for, but I have been hoping for an image like this one for quite awhile so no complaints from me.
If you're familiar at all with the Larch Mt. viewpoint, you can tell we're not up top. The place was totally packed, so we, and about 20 other people hiked down around underneath the official viewpoint.

From the Edge of the Earth- iPhone Wallpaper
I've been slowly rolling out images from our trip to Maui in April and this is one I keep pausing to look at over and over. I love the texture in the waves, the dark tones and the reflected color as the last light of day recedes down past the edge of the earth.
This one is a perfect fit for the iPhone.
