Afternoon Light, Steens Mt Massif from the Alvord Desert
This is going back a couple years, but it's easily one of my favorite images from a road trip with Shaun a couple years ago. Such dramatic light, weather and air in this place as the desert meets this chunk of rock.
This is the crazy light from Saturday's sunset here in Portland. This truly is the best time of year to be a photographer.

Que Pasa Cantina has become one of our favorite places over the last year or so. I'm always bummed when I hear that Emily has gone without me. We especially like the Queso and chips...though it often means we don't have enough room for dinner.
Also, the first time we took our kids there, my boys thought it was so awesome that we were going to a Cantina - like in Star Wars.
I got up awfully early for a Saturday, hoping for a sunrise over Mt Hood. It didn't happen though. This shot near Rhodedendron is all I saw of any good sunlight or even just a break in the clouds.
There's always the chance that you get dressed, prepare all your gear and drive out there just to stare at a bank of fog, but if you don't make the effort, there is exactly 0% chance of getting the shot. I'm new to this part of photography, but I suppose I'll have to get more used to it.
