Pano
In the summertime, I try to get the kids out hiking at least once a week. Today we visited my favorite, Elowah falls.
This is a familiar viewpoint, but I just can't resist it, especially since I'm shooting with a slightly different kit than last time I visited. This was taken with the Sony A7rii and the Zeiss Batis 25 and is a pano made from 6 images. The final image is 135mp!
We spent the last few days in Coos Bay with my parents and some good family friends. Two of those mornings were spent out on the boat starting from the Charleston Harbor.
I've been taking Bailey to the local off-leash dog park a lot more lately and she's getting pretty familiar with it. There are a few spots that get a little muddy, and it took us a few visits before she decided to not barrel through standing water at full speed which necessitated a bath (or at least a rinse-off) after each return.
This Photo was made the same day as the Sunrise and Sunset I posted a few days ago.

Mt Hood is now covered with a layer of snow, but here's a little reminder of how bare it was at summer's end.
Here's the first image from our trip to Crater Lake this year. This trip was pretty close to the same time of year, but Shaun and I brought all 6 of our collective children with us. It was a very different trip to say the least.
I snuck away at the end of a full day spent visiting most every stop on the drive around the rim of the crater to make this merger of 11 images and the resulting 71 megapixel pano. It was pretty quiet, as all the kids were wiped and were happy to stay in the car.

The kids and I hiked up past the upper observatory deck of Multnomah Falls to see the two waterfalls that most visitors never see. Dutchman falls is a smaller cascade over a mound of basalt chunks and then a gentle pour from the pull beneath. There's been a log in front of the falls for a couple years now, but hey, that's nature.
There's nothing quite like the view through a Hasselblad viewfinder. The kids and I took turns framing things up. I'll share those shots when I get them developed.

The trail continues to wind up into the forest, but not before a beautiful view of Weisendanger Falls. There are a bunch of logs to climb if you want to get right up near the falls, but it's pretty easy even for my 7 year old. Weisendanger can fluctuate quite a bit, and this photo shows it at a particularly light flow. I'm looking forward to coming back once the rains start up again and we get more snow pack.
With my kids out of town I got up at 4:30 and drove out to Jonsrud point in Sandy yesterday. I've been reading about stitching together multiple images and thought I'd try my hand at it. I really like the detail in the mist over the green field just below the mountain.
This particular image is made from 12 images shot at 75mm on my OM Mount Soligor macro zoom. I stitched them in Lightroom and it couldn't have been more simple.

The resulting image after cropping is 62.5 megapixels. Before cropping it was 74! I put together a couple other versions that were all aligned pretty well with almost no crop needed, but this is actually the photos from 2 different sets so it wasn't aligned quite as well. I'm looking forward to doing some of these with even more images, but this was a fun first try.
