Anna and the Hairstream Trailer
I met Anna this week at her Salon, The Hairstream Trailer which is located right next to Fried Egg I'm in Love on SE Hawthorne. I've taken photos of Jace from next door and I've even posted a photo of the hairstream trailer, but Anna was here today and I was able to talk to her for a few minutes and learn more about her business while I was waiting for lunch.
She decided to do business in a different way even before she was finished going to school for her profession. There's another stylist that shares the space and they do both appointments and walk-ins. It was overcast while we talked and she confirmed that it's a lot busier on sunny days, but the appointments keep it going.
Here's to more Beautiful Portland sunshine!

Ready to Rock
So, I broke my streak of 55mm Zeiss today. I was looking through images from the fall using a square composition and the wide angle Sony Zeiss 24mm and I decided to put it on before I left the house.
I also was carrying a Film camera and I think I got a winner or two there as well- also using a 24mm lens.
I have enjoyed the 55, and will continue pushing myself there, but I really love wide angle lenses, especially for street photos.
By the Lights of Harlow
When you increase the volume of photos as I have for this 365 project, you have to find time in your everyday because spectacular trips to amazing locations and perfect golden hour light are a little rare. So, what that means for me is lots of street photography on Hawthorne and the occasional trip downtown and around Portland. Thanks, lunch hour and coffee breaks.
I've also noticed 100% of the photos in this current project were taken with the Sony Zeiss 55mm f/1.8. It's a great lens and I'm getting used to the focal length. My perception of the 50ish focal length is framed within the APSC world of my previous cameras and while I loved the rendering quality and depth of field of the 50, I moved away from it becuase the field of view was just too tight. I did like the 24mm and the 35mm on the smaller sensor...which are like a 36mm and a 52mm.
So, it's not suprising that with the greater coverage of the full frame sensor, I'm digging this lens.
