Let me just say that I feel for single parents. Emily is in southern California until Monday helping her mother who is recovering from surgery. Yesterday was pretty crazy, especially in the morning. I am usually out the door by 7:15 or so most days- well before any major push towards prepping for the day begins. My kids are ages 8, almost 7 and almost 4. It's a little crazy at my house on a normal day, but we all certainly sense the difference when she is gone. We've got some fun stuff planned while she's gone, but it just isn't the same without her.
