Pip's was just 2 doors down from lunch. It was more work to not go there really. No photos of the actual donuts, just the decor which is decidedly Portland.
The Doughnuts were Cinnamon and Sugar and didn't have time for a portrait.

I've long found myself to be a creature of habit. I've worn it like a badge and I love any discussion about the morning routine or daily habits of others because it gives me some insight into what they find important. - What they find important enough to include at the start of every day before encountering the inevitable unexpected detour.
I've gone through periods of introspection over the years- I've made commitments to form new habits, and shun others as it really does have an effect on the rest of my life.
As with everything else we commit to, you have to start somewhere, and each day we get a chance to pick where that somewhere will be.
I usually visit Coava Coffee at least once a week or so. If you are in Portland and haven't you are missing out.
Apparently, it's also in the Japanese guide books too! I met a group of incredibly friendly folks who are visiting town and helped them out with a group photo.
The man at the back with the hat used to live here in town and spoke such great English, that I was surprised when I took a photo with his iPhone and everything was in Japanese!
They agreed to a group photo with my camera too and then took off for their next destination which I believe is Stumptown.
The man on the left hand side in the tan hat was carrying a well worn, and obviously loved Olympus OM1 and told me it had belonged to his grandfather. One more thing- the woman up front on the right side was all smiles except for when I took the shot.
All of them were incredibly friendly and I really hope they have a great visit. I gave them my website address too so If any of you stop by the site, Please do say "Hi" in the comments!
I can't pick up a bag of beans without an iced coffee for the road.
