About Dan

My name is Dan Hawk.

I live in Portland OR

I am a Husband, Father, Banker, Musician, Cyclist and Apple fan

We have called Portland home for the past 12 years.

I get pretty nerdy about User Interface and User Experience …especially for someone who doesn’t make a living obsessing about such things

I am a full time bike commuter and sometimes post photos from that here

Gear

I'm an Apple fan, so you'll never find me without my iPhone.  I also use an iPad, and a Macbook Pro.

I have been a photographer of sorts for a few years, but only bought what feels like a "real camera" this year.  All of my photos before that for the past 5 years have been taken on an iPhone or my  Canon SD 900.

My current camera kit is a Sony NEX 7  and a few different lenses.

Sony E 35mm f/1.8

Sony E 18-55 F/3.5-5.6

Sony E 50mm F/ 1.8

Olympus OM Mount 50mm F/1.8

Soligor OM Mount 70-205mm F/3.5

I also shoot quite a bit with the iPhone 5.

Affiliate Links

You probably noticed that I review, mention and link to a lot of great stuff.  It is important to let you know that when you click these links and then purchase something, I may receive a small amount of compensation for sending the business their way.  It's not a lot, but it helps pay for hosting to keep the site going.  Thanks!
